Police in Neno district have arrested a 37 year-old man on suspicion of allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 16 year-old girl.
National police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya, has confirmed the arrest and he has identified the suspect as Chisomo Hauya.
According to kalaya, the suspect committed the offence at a time when the victim was with a 13-year-old girl asked him to offer them water to quench thirty.
The man took the children to his house and managed to defile the one of them, a 16-year-old girl
This surprised the other child, which made him reveal the matter to his mother and take the matter to the police.
The suspect will soon appear in court to answer charges levelled against him.
Chisomo Hauya hails from Hauya village Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu District.
