South African veteran radio broadcaster Thabiso Sikwane has tragically passed away at age 50, following a suspected cardiac event.
Thabiso and mother who was set to host her 50th birthday celebration in a secret location with close friends and family, tragically passed away on Saturday morning.
After the Sikwane and Matladi families confirmed the sudden passing of DJ Fresh’s ex-wife, tributes have been pouring in.
DJ Fresh has also spoken out in a video shared on social media, to clarify that the circumstances surrounding Thabiso’s death were unforeseen and unclear.
Coincidentally, just hours before her passing, he had released an episode of his podcast featuring her as a guest.
DJ Fresh emphasized the need to address speculation and misinformation, stating that Thabiso passed away at around 6h30 am. on Saturday.
He mentioned that while it is believed to have been a cardiac event, the exact cause remains uncertain until a postmortem examination provides clarification.
DJ Fresh expressed the profound shock and confusion surrounding the sudden loss, highlighting that the unexpected nature of her passing has left everyone bewildered.
In the midst of mourning, DJ Fresh shared that their firstborn son encouraged him to continue working despite mourning.
He recounted how his son expressed that he hoped DJ Fresh would honor his bookings as that is what their late mother would have wanted.
DJ Fresh recalled a similar situation when their 15-year-old son, Wandi, was born prematurely, and Thabiso had advised him to honor his bookings in Durban.
