A 20 year old man of Chikankata district in Zambia has been committed to the high court by the Mazabuka Magistrate court for two counts of rape and defilement.

In the first count, Immanuel Moonga on 28th March, 2024, in Chikankata district, is alleged to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of a woman without her consent.

And in the second count, Moonga is charged with defilement of an imbecile.

Particulars of the matter are that Moonga on 4th April, 2024, in Chikankata district, did have carnal knowledge of the named imbecile.

Facts before court are that the imbecile was coming from school when she met Moonga who chased her until she fell, and he pounced on her.

The 20 year old is said to have gone ahead and had carnal knowledge of her in her unconscious state.

During cross examination, the victim testified that the accused indeed had carnal knowledge of her.

Moonga was found guilty and committed to high court for sentencing
