A 24-year-old man, Martin Sambani, committed suicide in Lilongwe after his friend accused him of stealing his mobile phone.

According to Linly Mwale, Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kanengo, the phone went missing last month. Sambani and his friend began arguing about the matter around 4 p.m. yesterday.

Mwale continued that Sambani was found hanging in his grandparents’ house in Area 25A around 8 p.m. on the same day.

Meanwhile, the police have urged people to seek advice from appropriate individuals when facing problems, rather than resorting to taking their own lives.
