Police at Lingadzi in Lilongwe have arrested eight people on suspicion of being allegedly attacking and robing people on ABC road in the city.
The new Lingadzi Police Assistant Commissioner Edwin Magalasi and his team, have managed to apprehend the suspect last night in a special operation instituted to find people who are suspected have been insulting various people including; journalists, government officials and businessmen pass through the road.
Lingadzi Police Spokesperson Cassim Manda has confirmed the development and said the suspects are e all under 27 years of age.
Manda said these people are; Mphatso Kachepa (27) who goes by the name Demuze, Chrispin Banda (26) who is also in their group is Jupapa, Daniel Harry (20), Innocent Chiyembeko (16) who goes by the name DJ, Charles Masina (17), Davie Mendeule (27), Moffat Mponda (20) whose name is Mogobwayi and Sanudi Amid (19).
During the arrest, they were found with four mobile phones whose owners have already been found.
All the suspects are in police custody waiting for their trial as soon they will be taken in court to answer charges leveled against them.
