Malawi football fraternity is mourning the death of Mike Robert former dedicated defender for Lilongwe based Silver Strikers.
Robert has died yesterday at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe after battling with kidney problem.
The player’s brother, Jacob Robert, has confirmed the death, saying Mike has been suffering from kidney disease for a long time and he also had cerebral malaria at some point.
Mike Robert was once a captain for central bankers and in his lifetime career, Robert won Airtel Top 8 cup and FDH Cup.
The player hailed from Dowa and his remains is expected to be taken to his home village.
