The court in Zomba will today continue to hearing the case in which a police officer, Twalick Mpaweni, is suspected of having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl when she was in police custody.
The state is expected to bring five witnesses to present their fact in the court of jury.
It is reported that Officer Mpaweni, committed the offence on 27 August 2023 when the victim was locked for some reasons.
In her testimony, the girl said she was forced to have sex with the policeman in order to get her out.
The girl continued saying that the police officer gave him a police flag when he was released from custody.
Lawyer for the victim Vitumbiko Mbizi from the Women Lawyers Association is expected to bring their thirteen witnesses on the case.
