Local Contractors, over 50 in total, working under Roads Authority continues with their vigil at Roads Funds Administration (RFA) offices in the capital Lilongwe.
The vigil follows failure by RFA to settle payments on already constructed roads across the country amounting to MK50 billion.
A visit to RFA offices on Thursday night faceofmalawi reporter saw some contractors sleeping at the main entrance with placards besides them.
“Local Contractors are suffering because of none payments. RFA we want our money,” some placards read in part.
The Local Contractors led by Alex Chimwala have since asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to intervene on the matter, saying the contractors are suffering.
According to Chimwala, banks are threatening to impound their property over failure by contractors to service loans.
Earlier this year, RFA only settled few payments.
