South African lady born from Mozambician and Nigerian parents Chidimma Adetshina was this last weekend crowned as 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria .
Her journey to victory has been full of ups and downs after she was withdrawn in last minute competing for Miss South Africa due to a nationality row and lots of online abuse.
Chidima, has finally accepted by Nigerians and she said she have always felt Nigerian from the moment she was born. I’m proudly Nigerian,’ Miss Universe Nigeria Chidimma said.
“The message I would give to people who have been following my story, is don’t give up on your dreams,” says the 23-year-old.
During the ceremony, Chioma’s mother was there watching her daughter despite being in arms of South Africa home affairs police.
This has sparked question among Mzansi as they are eager to know how Chidimma Adetshina’s mother was able to travel to Nigeria while still being investigated.
The dual national will now go on to represent Nigeria in Mexico for the international Miss Universe competition in November.
