Former Zambia President Edgar Chagwa Lungu on Sunday attended the wedding ceremony of Gerald Phiri and Mubanga Chitabo at the University of Zambia Main Chapel.
Writing on his official facebook page after attending the wedding ceremony said the vows brought back memories of the day he met the former first lady Esther Lungu.
“It’s true, what they say marriage is a very beautiful thing as it intertwines two souls into one path of destiny. This morning, I was privileged to attend the wedding ceremony of Gerald Phiri and Mubanga Chitabo.
“Making their vows to one another this morning brought back memories of the day I first met my wife, Esther. From those exploring times through the fight and triumph alike, our journey together gives a true definition of partnership,” said Lungu.
He added: “I must say that every high or low in life has steadily built our commitment and mutual support, and I go into the future with so much hope and excitement.
“To Gerald and Mubanga, may your marriage be a great source of your joy and fulfillment. As you go into this journey of life together, let love lead the way, mutual respect increase, and shared happiness and growth abound. Here’s to a bright and promising future filled with the beauty of togetherness.
“In Proverbs 18:22, the Bible categorically says “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord”. It is my prayer to the two of you that from today onwards, God Will multiply more blessings and divine favor in your lives.”
