Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila has apologized Marko Molotali Symon, United Democratic Front (UDF) Councillor for Ruo Ward in Nsanje district.
Mulotola was assaulted by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera security personnel for allegedly being heard criticizing the President who was launching the construction of new schools at Makhanga Primary and Makhanga Community Day Secondary School (CDSS).
The security personnel apprehended him and started beating him mercilessly and Kabwila moved in to rescue the Councillor.
Speaking in an interview with the press Kabwila said the party is sorry for the said incident.
“A Molotali Symon takhala tikugwira nawo ntchito kwa nthawi yaitali. Koma si bwino kuti iwo azinyoza mtsogoleri wa dziko lino popeza tonsefe ndife amodzi,” said Kabwila.
Chakwera has been in the lower-shire for four days now performing a number of official duties.
