United Transformation Movement (UTM) is scheduled to hold a memorial rally at Njamba Freedom Park in the commercial capital Blantyre on September 28, 2024.
The rally has been organized in honor of late former Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who died in a plane crash on June 10, 2024 in Chikangawa Forest together with 7 others.
The Njamba park rally comes barely weeks after another mass rally at Masintha Ground in Lilongwe.
UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati and some Presidential candidates namely; Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka, former Reserve Governor Dalitso Kabambe, former Minister of Energy Newton Kambala are all scheduled to attend the memorial rally at Njamba.
UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala was quoted saying that the party will hold the memorial rally in each every district of the country.
Njawala said Chilima was a national asset hence the move.
