Court in Zomba has ordered a 55-year-old man, to serve 16 years in prison after he was found guilty of assaulting and defiling a 14-year-old.
Spokesperson for Zomba Police, Patricia Sipilano has confirmed the development and identified the convict as Bamus Wilesi who is also a traditional doctor.
It is reported that, the girl likes to pass near Wilesi’s home, when going to fetch water and to the mill.
One day, the herbalist tricked the child into sleeping with him and then gave her money (K2000) to shut her mouth and tell no one.
But when she arrived at her home, the girl took out the money to brag with her friends until her parents questioned her.
