The Mkukula court in Dowa district has sentenced a 21 year-old house boy to 8 years in prison for having sex with his employer’s 9-year-old daughter.
According to Kanengo police spokesman Gresham Ngwira, the convict has been identified as Mphatso Madalitso who hails from Sindang’oma village Traditional Authority M’bangombe in Lilongwe district.
The state prosecutor Sam Chinkombero told the court that the Mphatso raped the child on the 4th of this month when the child’s parents were away.
Appearing in court, Madalitso admitted to the crime but requested that the court consider him in sentencing, saying that he is an orphan and he stays with his little brother who rely on him.
But in giving his decision, judge, Thomson Medias, decided that the man should be in prison for 8 years.
