Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has announced that it has forgiven Member of Parliament for Nsanje Lalanje Gladys Ganda for her recent remarks.
Ganda had written an apology letter to the party’s leader, Peter Mutharika, and the party’s supporters regarding comments she made during a political rally at Sorjin in Nsanje when the President of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, was visiting the district for development projects.
However, in a press statement that Face of Malawi has seen, released today and signed by the party’s spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba, the party confirmed that it has forgiven Ganda.
The letter also stated that the decision to remove Ganda from her position as the party’s director of elections remains in place, after careful consideration by the party, concluding that this decision is in the best interest of both the party and its members.
As a party, we believe in forgiveness, the party is confident that Hon Gladys Ganda will continue her duties with the utmost diligence and sensitivity, reads the statement.
