Liwonde first grade magistrate court in Machinga, has convicted and sentenced a 44 year old man to 12 years imprisonment for defiling 11 year-old girl in the district.

State prosecutor Mac Mhone identified the convict as Sephano Admark who committed the offence on July 19 2024.

Mhone told the court that, on stated date, the victim went to visit her grandparents Balaka district. On her way, the convict who was escorting her, took it as an advantage of defiling her and threatening to kill her if she tells anyone.

He added that the incident was reported to the police in Ulongwe, and the hospital found that the the girl was indeed defiled.

In his ruling, First Grade Magistrate Maxwell Boaz ordered Admark to spend his 12 year in prison for over defilement case.
