Two students from Maranatha Private Academy will each go away with Money amounting to MK2 million for emerging top in the just released 2024 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination.
Maranatha Private Academy Managing Director Managing Dr. Ernest Kaonga revealed this during a media briefing held on Tuesday at Crossroads Hotel in Blantyre.
According to Kaonga, the two a boy and girl identified as Owen Jelasi and Hellen Thombosi will also be awarded with a full scholarship to study in India.
“These two i promised them that they will get MK2 million each when they get 6 points. I Know they are worried wherever they are but to me the 8 points that Owen has scooped is 6 points for me and he will get MK 2 million while Hellen has got 10 points and to me its 6 points and she will also get MK2 million.
“At the same time, am giving them scholarship to study abroad. Everything paid for including, tuition fees, accommodation, food. These two have made us proud,” said Kaonga who also President of Private School Association of Malawi (PRISAM).
Turning to the overall performance, Dr. Kaonga about 392 girls sat for the just released MSCE examination and 385 girls have passed representing 98 percent pass rate while on the boys side school has recorded a 99 percent pass late.
Kaonga has since urged parents to send their children to Maranatha Academy.
