Ongolani Charles has been arrested by the police in Mwanza for allegedly sexually assaulting a 60-year-old woman.
According to Mwanza police spokesperson Hope Kasakula, the suspect took advantage of the woman when she was intoxicated.
On that day, both the man and the woman were at a location consuming alcohol, and upon noticing that the woman was unable to defend herself, he lured her to a secluded area and assaulted her.
Passersby who witnessed the incident intervened and took him to the local authorities, who then brought him to the police station.
Kasakula stated that the suspect, who is from the Chatha area under the jurisdiction of chief Kanduku in Mwanza, will appear in court to answer to the charges.
