A Miami judge has denied bond to Maecee Marie Lathers, 24, a social media model accused of killing two innocent people after crashing her Mercedes into their vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
The crash, which occurred on August 10, claimed the lives of Abraham Molina and Jesus Rubio after Lathers reportedly sped into their car at nearly 80 mph.
Police say Lathers was high on pink cocaine, also known as “tuci,” at the time of the collision. The dangerous drug, which has gained notoriety for its use in party scenes, allegedly impaired her ability to drive safely.
Initially, Lathers had been released on house arrest after posting bond. However, following a court hearing on September 10, the judge revoked her bond, sending her back to jail to await trial.
The decision reflects the severity of the charges, with prosecutors emphasizing the deadly consequences of her reckless behavior.
Lathers, who had built a large following on social media, now faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter. The families of Molina and Rubio are seeking justice as the legal process unfolds.
