Prophet Kumchacha of Heavens Gate Ministries has stirred controversy by claiming that marrying multiple wives can lead to a longer life.
During an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz on September 14, 2024, he asserted that polygamy is not a sin, challenging traditional beliefs about biblical prohibitions.
He argued that while Apostle Paul suggested monogamy, it was merely advice rather than a divine mandate.
“Marriage is tough with just one partner,” he stated, implying that having multiple wives could make life easier and more enjoyable.
He also criticized rigid interpretations of biblical texts, suggesting that Paul’s guidance in 1 Timothy is not a universal command.
