Harare Civil Court magistrate Meenal Naratom has issued a protection order for Caroline Majoko after her husband, Lovemore Majoko, allegedly assaulted her upon discovering his affair with their domestic worker.
Caroline testified that she caught Lovemore cheating with their house helper over the weekend, leading to a violent confrontation.
“On Sunday, I discovered that my husband was having an affair with our housekeeper,” she told the court.
She described a harrowing escape when Lovemore, wielding a knife, attempted to attack her, which accidentally punctured her car tires.
Additionally, Caroline accused Lovemore of harassment, stating, “He frequently threatens my co-workers to obtain information about me.”
Lovemore denied the allegations, claiming that Caroline was fabricating the story and had been unfaithful since July.
“My wife is fabricating and distorting the truth. I have been faithful to her for 11 years and have never assaulted or insulted her,” he argued. Despite his denials, the court granted Caroline a protection order against him.
