Police at Mazabuka in Zambia have opened three case files related to the assault of Davison Munsanda, President of the Zambia Association of Musicians.
Two of the charges are directed at Constable Mervis Zulu of Mazabuka Police. Zulu allegedly assaulted Munsanda by striking him with a beer bottle at Friday’s Corner.
Additionally, Zulu is accused of assaulting Bright Hamwenda, the United Party for National Development (UPND) Youth Chairman for Mazabuka Central Constituency.
Zulu is also charged with malicious damage for damaging the side mirror of Hamwenda’s Mitsubishi Garant vehicle, valued at K3,500.
As a result of the attack, Munsanda sustained cuts on his upper lip and left eyebrow, while Hamwenda suffered a painful right cheek from a slap.
In a twist, Zulu reported being assaulted by both Hamwenda and Munsanda, claiming to have sustained chest and general body pains from a fistfight.
