Leader of Opposition in Parliament Dr. George Chaponda has accused Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara of being biased when discharging her duties in the August House.
The accusation follows a chaotic scenes that erupted in Parliament following the remarks made by leader of the house Richard Chimwendo Banda.
Chimwendo Banda claimed that the opposition DPP led by former President Peter Mutharika will not return into power in 2025 and this did not please the opposition benches.
In reaction Chaponda wrote on his official facebook page: “Ayamba zau Secretary General mu Parliament. And the speaker is just watching. That’s why we want impartial leadership in Parliament.”
Hara is yet to comment on the matter.
Parliament has since been adjourned ‘sun die’.
