Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has arrived in Mzuzu with pomp ahead of the mega rally slated for tomorrow at Katoto Freedom Park Ground.
Muthrika arrived in Mzuzu around 9pm yesterday and was welcomed by a huge crowd led by DPP Vice President for the North Jappie Mhango and the party’s regional governor Christopher Mzomera Ngwira.
Addressing the DPP supporters, Mutharika said he is in Mzuzu to interact with the party supporters ahead of the 2025 polls.
Mutharika said with the support from the North he is assured of kicking out of State House President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the Malawi Congress Party.
This will be the first mega rally for Mutharika in Mzuzu since losing the fresh Presidential polls in 2020.
