Malawian celebrated hip-hop artist based in South Africa,Gemini Major, has fired back at local rapper Evanz Muzik after he criticised Gemini’s latest song “Ndikapeza,” featuring Achina Gattah Ase.
In a post made on his Facebook page last night, Evanz Muzik, who claims to be a “real” hip-hop artist in Malawi, slammed the new track, placing it among his “top five whack songs of all time.”
His post sparked heated reactions from fans, with some supporting his critique, while others accused him of failing to appreciate good music.
Responding to the criticism, Gemini Major didn’t hold back. He took to social media, offering “a thousand trillions” to anyone who could recite an Evanz Muzik song, mocking the artist’s relevance and dismissing him as someone with a “poor career.”
The exchange has sparked debate among Malawian music fans, with some siding with Gemini Major and others backing Evanz. As the feud unfolds, it’s clear that opinions on what constitutes good hip-hop in Malawi remain deeply divided.
