Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has announced that there is going to be an international event dubbed Salvation Festival where the believers are going to celebrate their being ‘saved’ Saturday 28th September, 2024.
He said: “This is going to be both virtual and physical festival where those who will not manage to come will attend virtually”
He likened the festival to the Jewish Yom Kippur which is the holiest day of the year in Judaism occuring annually on the 10th of Tishrei, corresponding to a date in late September or early October.
He also said that other ECG delegations from different countries have already started arriving.
Rose Nzwimbi Holmnielsen who is ECG Pastor in Denmark and is already in the country, said that she is looking forward to fellowshipping with fellow Christians in the company of the church’s founder, Bushiri.
Activities to take place during the festival include sports, musical performances by the tribe of Judah, the Great Angels Choir, Kamuzu Barracks Gospel singers among others, various games, dances, Bible studies, interactions, baptism and sharing of the word.
Since Prophet Bushiri’s return from South Africa in 2020, Malawi has now turn into a religious tourism attraction as thousands have been flocking from all walks of life to attend various church events.
The 2023 Salvation in Salima attracted more than 5,000 participants including visitors from other countries.
