Flames midfielders Patrick Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma will temporarily play on loan at CS Don Bosco in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) due to a transfer ban imposed on TP Mazembe by FIFA.
The two former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players were signed by Mazembe with the assumption that the transfer ban would have been lifted by now. However, the ban remains in effect, prompting TP Mazembe’s owner, Moise Katumbi, to arrange for the players to feature for CS Don Bosco, a club also under his control, until the situation is resolved.
The transfer ban has disrupted Mazembe’s plans to register new players, leaving Mwaungulu and Nkhoma to find temporary playing time elsewhere. Both players were highly anticipated to join the Congolese football giants after impressive stints at Nyasa Big Bullets, but for now, they will gain experience at Don Bosco while waiting for Mazembe’s transfer issues to be resolved.
This happens barely after a month TP Mazezembe released Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defender Lawrence Chaziya in his trial period at the Team.
Fans and football analysts are eager to see how the Flames stars will adapt to their new environment in the DRC and contribute to CS Don Bosco during their loan period.
