United Transformation Movement (UTM) has denied setting two years membership as requirement for all aspirants ahead of the elective conference set for November 17, 2024.
The social media was recently awash with rumours that only members who have been in the party for a period of two years will be the one allowed to contest at the convention.
This attracted mixed reactions with many claiming that some top officials are not comfortable with Engineer Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka and former Reserve Bank Governor Dalitso Kabambe who recently joined the party and have come out openely declaring interest to contest for the post of Presidency.
But UTM Publicity Secretary Felix Njawala through a statement has described the speculations as untrue.
Njawala then urged UTM members to remain united ahead of the elective conference.
