Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema suspends three Judges

THREE Constitutional Court judges have been suspended with immediate effect.
This follows a recommendation in the report presented to President Hakainde Hichilema by the Judicial Complaints Commission.
State House Chief Communication Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka, announced that the suspended judges are Justice Anne Sitali, Justice Mungeni Mulenga, and Justice Palan Mulonda.
“President Hakainde Hichilema has, with immediate effect, acting on the recommendation in the report presented to him by the Judicial Complaints Commission, suspended three judges of the Constitutional Court of Zambia,” he said.
Mr Hamasaka said the suspension of the three judges is in accordance with the powers vested in the President under Article 144 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia.
