The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has condemned the remarks made by Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma yesterday in the capital Lilongwe.
Zikhale Ng’oma told reporters that DPP supporters attacked each other in February this year at Mbowe Filling Station during a blue parade.
“The truth is, DPP members fought among themselves at Mbowe. The investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to uncovering the full details,” said Zikhale Ng’oma.
But in his reaction DPP spokesperson Shadric Namalomba described the remarks made by Zikhale as unfortunate, saying the duty of the law enforcers to protect everyone regardless of the situation.
Namalomba said the party believes that Malawi Congress Party (MCP) youths had a hand in the fracas hence failure by the law enfoprcers to arrest the culprits.
