Vice President Michael Usi, visited Mtandile Market in Lilongwe on Tuesday, where he addressed people on the importance of unity and collaboration.
Usi urged the people of Mtandile to act as a “brother’s keeper” emphasising the need for kindness and cooperation, regardless of political or religious differences.
“We are all Malawians, and this country belongs to us, therefore it is our duty to look out for one another,” Usi said.
He also commended President Lazarus Chakwera for allowing him to engage with the public directly, highlighting government’s efforts to empower its citizens, particularly through initiatives such as the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF).
Usi encouraged residents to apply for NEEF loans, stressing the importance of repayment and explaining how the fund is crucial for small business owners.
“NEEF loans are critical to the average businessman and are meant to be accessed by all Malawians.” Usi said.
Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City West, George Zulu applauded the Vice President’s outreach, saying such actions reflect a government that cares for its people.
