The Unite Democratic Front (UDF) has denied rumours hovering on the social media that the party is seeking financial support from the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to hold the elective conference next week.
Speaking during the media briefing in Blantyre Chairperson of the elective conference Aisha Adams said the party is saddened with the said report, describing it as fake.
According to Adams, the party invited MCP like any other parties namely; United Transformation Movement (UTM), Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and others just to attend the elective conference.
But UDF supporters who are present at the media briefing have openly protested the move to invite MCP to the elective conference.
The supporters went further to say that they don’t want the party to form an alliance with UDF.
UDF is scheduled to hold its elective conference on October 2, 2024 at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.
