Information reaching this publication indicates that Aisha Adams has resigned as chairperson of the much awaited convention of the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Her resignation comes barely a day after some UDF supporters especially women vehemently protested the invitation of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to the party’s convention slated for October 2, 2024 in Blantyre.
In the resignation letter addressed to UDF Secretary General, Adams who is also Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament has cited inner differences and pressure from outside as the reasons for the resignation.
Adams has since hinted that she remain loyal to the party.
