Residents in the town of Kasungu have destroyed a Mira vehicle with registration number NE 4319, which was reportedly involved in an accident with a student from Chankhanga Primary School, who allegedly died at the scene.

Witnesses say that the driver, whom they believe was drunk, was attacked immediately after the incident.

Reports indicate that the girl was coming from school; she tried to escape from the vehicle but was unable to get away due to its high speed before she was hit.

The police arrived on the scene and used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

As of now, the police have rescued the driver, but they have not yet commented on the matter.

The identities of both the driver and the girl are still unknown.
