A Mzuzu-based politician, Joe Thomas Nyirongo, fondly known as Big Joe, has survived a road accident in Nkhata-Bay district.
The incident occurred this morning when the Sienta vehicle he has been driving collided head-on with a truck at Lwazi around 7:00 AM.
According to Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson Kondwani James, Big Joe has sustained a fracture to his left ankle and serious bruises on his right arm.
One of the passengers has also suffered a left thigh fracture, while the other has sustained bruises on the forehead.
Fortunately, all involved have received medical attention.
