3 Arrested For Theft Of Electric Cables In Nkhotakota

Three men have been arrested in Nkhotakota on suspicion of allegedly stealing a 50-meter electric cable valued at over 3 million kwacha from the Illovo Company estate in Dwangwa.
Public Relations Officer for Nkhunga police station Andrew Kamanga, has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspects as Stanley Mwalulita, aged 28, Wongani Kanyika, aged 27, and Phillip Majuta,20.
According to Kmanga, the trio is believed to commit the offence during the early hours of Friday 27 September 2024.
Police received a report indicating that thieves had stolen the cable from the company’s premises.
Kamanga stated that the three suspects will appear in court to face charges of theft once police conclude their investigation into the matter.
Stanley Mwalulita hails from Mbuna village, Wongani Kanyika from Kankhomba village, and Phillip Majuta from Katchayina village under Senior Chief Kanyenda in the district.
