Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top officials led by the party’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba on Tuesday visited lawmaker Daudi Chikwanje at Zomba Maximum Prison.
Chikwanje, DPP’s regional governor for eastern region was arrested yesterday over a video he is heard encouraging DPP supporters to set ablaze anyone seen putting on Malawi Congress Party (MCP) regalia.
The remarks attracted mixed reactions with many criticizing him.
National Police spokesperson Peter Kalaya said Chikwanje will answer charges bordering on on proposing violence.
