A 20-year-old man identified as Junior Nkwesa has died by suicide after ingesting three pills of Quick Force, a rat poison brand, following a family dispute. The incident took place on 29th September 2024.
According to Southern Province Commissioner of Police Auxensio Daka, Nkwesa informed his sister-in-law about consuming the poison, which led her to take him to the hospital in an attempt to save his life.
However, despite these efforts, his condition worsened, and he succumbed to the poison 30 minutes after police officers visited him the same day.
The family dispute that prompted this tragic act has not yet been disclosed to the public. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
