Liwonde First Grade Magistrate Maxwell Boaz, sitting in Zomba, has granted bailed to Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Eastern Region Governor Daudi Chikwanje.
Chikwanje is accused of inciting violence following remarks made at a rally on September 28 at Nsanama trading centre in Machinga district, which were captured on video.
He was arrested on September 30.
Some top officials from DPP including the party’s vice president for the Eastern region Bright Msaka and George Chaponda and party supporters attended the bail hearing.
