As ordered by the magistrate court in Neno, police today destroyed two coffins that were confiscated from two ritualists.
First Grade Magistrate Margret Khobili sentenced Christopher Manyika to a two-year suspended sentence for conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
The court found Manyika guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison after he was caught red-handed at night carrying coffins believed to be connected to wealth rituals.
Manyika was arrested last month following a tip-off to the police about him and his accomplice, Henry Kapakasa, transporting coffins from their residence to Chifenthe village grounds around midnight.
