Archbishop George Desmond Tambala in Rome

Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) President Archbishop Desmond Tambala is in Rome, Italy where he is attending 16th General Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
ECM confirmed of the development in a statement posted on its official facebook page seen by this publication.
According to the statement, the Synod was opened by Mass led by Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square and will end on 27th October 2024.
Archbishop Tambala is expected to be back in Malawi on the 28th of October 2024.
Tambala is the Archbishop of Lilongwe Archdiocese.
