The election of Genarino Lemani as Secretary General of United Democratic Front (UDF) has excited the party President Atupele Muluzi ahead of the 2025 polls.
Lemani is a son to late Dumbo Lemani, who served the party and the country in various ministerial positions under the reign of former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi.
writing on his official facebook page, the young Muluzi applauded Lemani taking up the huge post in UDF.
“Congratulations to Genarino Lemani on his election as Secretary General of the United Democratic Front (UDF). At just 36 years old, Genarino becomes the youngest Secretary General of a major political party in Malawi—a remarkable achievement and a clear testament to his leadership and dedication.
“This is a proud moment for the UDF and a positive step forward as we continue to build a dynamic and inclusive future for our party and country. We look forward to working together to advance our shared vision for Malawi,” wrote Muluzi.
Malawi will hold its general election on September 16, 2025.
