Malawi’s young female footballer Rose Kadzere, has officially joined Montpellier Hérault Sport Club in France’s top women’s league on a three-year deal.

A two-time FAM National Women’s Championship Player of the Year, has been officially introduced to the French team yesterday on 3rd October 2024.

This marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first-ever Malawian footballer male or female to secure a direct professional move to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Rose’s exceptional talent and dedication have led her to break new ground for Malawian football. Her journey to one of the most competitive women’s leagues in the world stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for aspiring athletes in Malawi and beyond.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has congratulated the player by making Facebook post  cheering her for securing a place at Montpellier Hérault Sport Club.
