South African Police officer, Sergeant Herbert Modiba (46) and civilian Victor Mashakeng (49) have appeared in court and been remanded in custody in connection with the 2020 murder of a Seshego taxi owner.
Investigators revealed that the suspects were allegedly hired by a rival taxi owner, who has since passed away.
The court has postponed the case until 13 November 2024 as further investigations continue. The incident has once again brought attention to the ongoing violence within the taxi industry in South Africa.
