An open vehicle carrying passengers from a maize distribution center in Blantyre has overturned on Magalasi Road leaving many people injured in Blantyre.
According to an eyewitness, Isaac Chilenje, the vehicle was speeding and appeared to have lost its brakes before the accident.
Chilenje suspects that the vehicle was carrying approximately 25 passengers, many of whom have sustained injuries. At present, Ndirande Police have yet to comment on the incident.
Ndirande Police spokesperson Maxwell Jailosi confirmed that several injured passengers have been taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre for treatment.
