A six-year-old boy, Jathan Escobar, has tragically been taken off life support after being brutally beaten by his stepfather, Abdulrahim Sulaiman, 33, with a baseball bat in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 23.
Sulaiman also attacked his wife and Jathan’s four-year-old brother, who is currently in stable condition and expected to survive. Police revealed that when they administered CPR to Jathan, they could see brain matter from the top of his head.
The boy was airlifted for treatment but was later declared brain dead. His stepfather, who had reportedly been using “angel dust” before the attack, now faces charges upgraded to Murder with Special Circumstances.
