ACB Arrests Balaka Magistrate and Clerk for Alleged Bribery, Charged with Corruption

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Magistrate Philip Chibwana from Balaka District, along with his clerk Feston Chauma, on suspicion of accepting a bribe of 300,000 Kwacha.
This money was allegedly given to them in exchange for releasing another individual who was facing charges.
ACB spokesperson Egrita Mdala confirmed the arrests and stated that the two have been charged with receiving a bribe and abuse of office.
