The Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued a stern warning to education institutions that are unfairly demanding additional payment from students who have already paid their examination fees in full.

This practice has been on the rise, particularly in institutions that administer exams on behalf of foreign examination boards.

Innocent Helema, spokesperson for CFTC, strongly condemned this malpractice, stressing that students should not be subjected to additional financial burdens due to delays that are not their fault.

Helema has since advised institutions to take proactive steps to facilitate timely payment processing of examination fees, ensuring that students are not exploited.
