Malawian female iconic footballer Tabitha Chawinga Chawinga has called on her countrymen and women to support her in her bid for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Chawinga, currently playing for Olympique Lyonnais in France, has been nominated for the prestigious Women’s Ballon d’Or, competing alongside other top talents, including Zambian footballer Barbra Banda, Lauren James English player just to mention a few.
Initially, Chawinga was outside the top five in the voting rankings, but after appealing for support from her homeland, she now holds 7% of the votes and has climbed into the top five.
Voting is still open, and she continues to encourage fans to cast their votes as she vies for the esteemed award.
