A 25-year-old Halima Kapoto died after being electrocuted in Matiki 1, Dwangwa, in Nkhotakota District.

Nkhunga police spokesperson Andrew Kamanga confirmed the incident. He stated that the deceased touched a live wire on a pole that was installed to protect against lightening, but at that time, the wire was electrified.

According to Kamanga, she was on her way to visit her sick relative at Matiki 2 in Dwangwa when the accident occurred.

Halima was from the village of Mputa in the Nankumba chiefdom, Mangochi District.
